Poker as Bachelor Party Fun

Every day we take a gamble on something. We gamble that that premade sandwich from the grocery is going to be any good. We gamble that we'll be able to get from point A to point B safe and sound. Everything is a risk – so why should we not take those risks and apply them to the fun we have in life. The next time you're planning a bachelor party, consider yet another gamble and bring the party to a poker table for some bachelor party fun.

On any regular night, you and the guys get together at one another's house to partake in a friendly game of poker. If the game is going good, you could easily be up until the wee hours of the morning betting anything from fake poker chips to real hard cash. Recently, though, one of your singles crew announced their engagement, with the engagement comes the inevitable end to "poker night". On the horizon of this miserable news though, there may be some form of silver lining – the bachelor party. Why not take the groom-to-be's favorite past time and put that bachelor party spin on it.

There are several ways you can handle the bachelor party poker night. You can go the "cheesy" route and decorate your home in all poker decor. If you're lucky enough to have a significant other, she can act as the night's "cocktail waitress" and ensure the bachelor never has an empty glass. One advantage of staying at home is that the only limitation to the alcohol is how much you've purchased beforehand.

If the groom expresses interest in having a night out, the party can be taken to any of Las Vegas' luxurious casinos, where you can hope to hijack an entire table for your party alone. Once a cocktail waitress catches wind of a bachelor party (and if the tip is large enough, of course), you can almost guarantee a more personalized service that'll make the bachelor feel like a VIP. Chances are you'll want to pre-arrange transportation as it's almost a given that the drinks will flow quite freely. If you're also already out on the town, after the poker game you can make a stop at a local strip club where your group can spend its winnings on lap dances for the man of the hour.

Lastly, you can combine the best of both options and hire a stripper to come to the at home poker game. Bringing the stripper to the poker game opens up a few options, like a variation on strip poker. Rather than having the guys strip off an article of clothing with each loss, every time the groom wins, the stripper performs a nice little strip tease or gives him a lap dance. With these rules in place, not only are the stakes high, but the distractions for the entire group are well in place, so you can expect to pass up on a royal flush due to the stripper's two-of-a-kind.

Don't assume that every bachelor party must take place in a club of some sort. Put a spin on the night and give the groom-to-be a night you'll know he'd enjoy.
